Short Term High Yield

USA

Deutsche lists short term high yield bond ETF in the US

Deutsche Bank is expanding its junk bond ETF offering, listing a new fund that tracks only junk bonds with short maturities, the Deutsche X-trackers Short Duration High Yield Bond ETF (SHYL).

SHYL will use representative sampling to track the Solactive USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index. Deutsche already has an ETF that tracks this index, the Xtrackers USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYLB), which is the cheapest of any kind of junk bond ETF in the US. What makes SHYL different despite tracking the same index is that it selects only short-term bonds. SHYL’s prospectus defines short-term as anything less than five years.

Germany and Italy

Amundi brings market neutral ETF to Italy and Germany

Amundi is bringing its market neutral ETF over to Germany and Italy, having proved popular in Paris where it was first listed.

The Amundi iSTOXX Europe Multi-Factor Market Neutral UCITS ETF (MKTN:IM, SMRN:GR) was the first European ETF to use a market neutral strategy, which is an investment style usually reserved for hedge funds. It involves both investing long and shorting similar stocks in order for a fund to reap the gains of a long position while protecting itself if the market falls.
