Amplify lists actively managed battery ETF

Thematic ETF specialist Amplify Investments is listing a new actively managed ETF that targets new battery technology. The Amplify Advanced Battery Metals and Materials ETF (BATT) will invest in companies engaged “in the production, mining and/or integration or recycling of the metals and materials used in advanced battery technology,” the prospectus says. Materials include lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese and graphite, and others that are typically used as component compounds for batteries.

The prospectus stresses that active management is necessary “in order to adjust for the rapidly changing market conditions including… evolving battery technology, new demand factors and the availability of certain metals and materials.” BATT will also keep an eye on company valuations and IPOs when considering its holdings.
