Guinness Atkinson lists smart transport ETF

Anglo-American money manager Guinness Atkinson is re-entering the US ETF market, listing an actively managed future transport ETF.

The Smart Transportation ETF (MOTO) will invest in global companies of any market capitalisation that help usher in a new era of transport.

The future transport theme is broadly defined, to include anything from new wave car batteries, to electric vehicles car manufactures, to software and app makers. In addition to the broad definition, the prospectus says the fund will invest in companies at every point in the value chain. The fund will hold a relatively concentrated portfolio of 35 securities, all equally weighted.

While Guinness Atkinson fiddled with starting an ETF sub-brand in 2013, it never solidified a product line.
